Dentaid & Waterpik

This case study focuses on the ongoing UI update project for the Dentaid and Waterpik online stores, both belonging to the same group. The main goal is to improve and enhance various aspects of the online stores, across both B2B and B2C versions and in multiple languages. The approach is based on addressing client requests and making iterative changes to the online stores, which are built on Prestashop. The project was still ongoing as of August 2023.

##Context

Dentaid and Waterpik, two brands belonging to the same group, operate online stores to offer their products in several markets and in different languages. The collaboration aims to improve the user interface, the shopping experience, and other aspects across both brands' online stores. As client needs and preferences evolve, iterative changes are made to keep the stores up to date and optimised.

##Focus on Continuous Updates

Unlike previous cases, this project did not start from a prior design in Figma, but is instead driven by the client's specific requests and needs. The update process has been carried out in an iterative and collaborative manner:

Client Collaboration:

  1. Identifying Priorities: We worked with the client to understand their needs and priorities regarding UI improvements.

  2. Specific Requests: The client requested improvements in areas such as navigation, product presentation, the checkout process, and the integration of specific features.

##Updates Across Multiple Stores

Dentaid and Waterpik operate multiple online stores, each adapted to different languages and markets. Although they are built on Prestashop, each store has its own particularities and adjustments to comply with local regulations and preferences.

Key Update Features:

  1. Improved Product Presentation: The way products are displayed was optimised, including high-quality images, detailed descriptions, and specifications.

  2. Enhanced Shopping Experience: Changes were implemented to simplify and speed up the checkout process, ensuring users have a smooth and efficient experience.

  3. Multi-Language and Multi-Market Adaptation: Each online store was tailored to meet local regulations and preferences while maintaining brand consistency.

##Results and Continuation

The ongoing update project for Dentaid and Waterpik has successfully improved and enhanced various aspects of the online stores, providing users with a better product purchasing experience. Close collaboration with the client and agile responses to requests have been fundamental to the project's success.

As the project continued through August 2023, the plan was to keep implementing changes and improvements in response to the client's evolving needs and market trends. This continuous and flexible approach keeps the stores up to date and competitive in the ever-changing e-commerce landscape.
